Biography

Monica's love of drawing began in middle school, where she first explored art through re-creation and imitation, taking inspiration from the world around her. By high school, she had begun refining her skills under the guidance of various local artists in the Columbus, Ohio area.

While pursuing a Bachelor of Architecture degree at the University of Cincinnati, she deepened her understanding of art and design through formal coursework while continuing to develop her personal artistic practice. It was during this time that she also began her professional journey as an interior designer and space planner.

As the years passed and she moved beyond the structured environment of school, her creative expression evolved. What began as recreating the images she saw around her gave way to a passion for abstract art - open, unplanned, intuitive painting that allows her to create purely for the joy of the process, without any predetermined concept or image.

Today, when not in her studio in Fort Worth, Texas, she can be found tending to her garden, spending time with her husband of over 30 years, or sharing creative moments with her two daughters.
